Paul Smith, Spring 2011
This collection reminds me of Duckie from Pretty in Pink, in the best way possible.

Topman, Spring 2012
Last month while traveling in London we were all invited to attend the Topman show. I had never been to a mens show and I was excited to see some cute boys in suits (not too shabby for an average Wednesday morning). While that was the case in the beginning, the show took a turn for the colorful. After some gray came purple, orange, and green paisleys that made me swoon, and I’m fully lusting after all of the silk pajama shirts and shorts, not to mention the patent neon penny loafers. Even as I turn 21 on this chilly October day, those thin silks are all I can think about. Here’s hoping they go into production otherwise poor Jamel from Topman will be getting many an email from me stalking them…fingers crossed!

Gucci, Fall 2012
Over a snowy NYC weekend a little while ago, I re-watched one of my favorite movies, Pirate Radio. Set in 1960s England, young Carl (the super cute Tom Sturridge) is sent to live with the DJs of Radio Rock, a pirate radio ship. Led by the inimitable Quentin (played by the always amazing and impeccably dressed Bill Nighy), the ship is home to a quirky cast of characters such as love struck Simon, brash American the Count (played by Phillip Seymour Hoffman which is reason enough to rent this movie), sexy rebellious Gavin, and the lovable but dumb Thick Kevin. Hilarity ensues, great music is played, and fun times are had by all. If you’ve never seen it, rent it immediately. What does all of this have to do with Gucci you may ask? As I flipped through the looks on Style.com, I immediately thought of those lovable DJs on Radio Rock. There are tailored peacoats for Carl, slim suits for Quentin, and cozy turtlenecks for Kevin. There are jewel tone paisleys that are the epitome of 1960’s England, colorful layered ensembles for Gavin, and even an olive green wool jacket with blue fur collar that screams “the Count” like nothing else. It’s that throwback 60’s attitude and mix of new and old that makes these modern clothes so cool. I know Quentin would surely be proud.

Valentino, Mens Spring 2013

This past Saturday I got together with the girls to pay homage to some of our favorite menswear guys. With the help of James, we recreated some of our favorite shots, and spent a very fun afternoon running around Soho in boys clothes. A huge thank you to John and Lucky Magazine for making this happen, and of course a round of applause for my cohorts Holly, Pizza, Megan, and Marisa.

Carven, Mens Spring 2013
It might be the middle of women’s fashion week here in New York, but today it’s all about the boys. Carven’s Mens Spring 2013 collection is just the pop of color needed on this cold rainy day, from the boxy coats and cropped pants to that perfect floral embroidered sweatshirt.  Can spring come any sooner?
