It’s hard to find a collection where I like every single thing. After all, the average collection has at least 30 looks, which is a lot of clothing to process. Givenchy Fall 2011 was one of those rare collections. Full of imagination and innovation, it was dressed up and dressed down all at once. When you break it down, most looks were made up of a pencil skirt and a sweatshirt. Such a simple and unusual idea was translated over and over again without ever getting boring, and the mix of sheer and heavy fabrics like velvet gave the clothes weight and dimension. Add in graphic heels, phenomenal thick frame glasses, and some pretty awesome hats with cat ears, and you’ve got a hit. And seriously…those glasses…I’m still dying for a pair.
