3.1 Phillip Lim, Spring 2013
Girly grungy 90s awesomeness. There’s nothing better than layering on as many colors and patterns as you please, especially when it’s cold outside. Floral, plaid, neon, suede, silk, leather, a graphic tee, you name it. Phillip Lim has created a pack of cool NYC girls who don’t take everything so seriously. Have fun, wear what makes you smile, and indulge in your mood that day. The mix is what makes a simple outfit perfectly complicated.

Dries van Noten, Spring 2013
Dries van Awesome. Always perfect. ‘Nuff said.

Can’t stop watching this video. The drum beat. The tambourine. The guitar players dance moves.

Dan Croll—so hot right now.

Carven, Resort 2013
I am a die-hard Carven fan and Resort 2013 was particularly great. It was all about the casual mix: skirt suits with flat sandals, cherry brights with a leather jacket, and even party dresses for daytime. Combine that with the always perfectly simple hair and makeup and those to-die-for bow front pumps, and you’ve got the essential Carven girl.

RAC is amazing, and this is officially being played on repeat starting now.

Carven, Mens Spring 2013
It might be the middle of women’s fashion week here in New York, but today it’s all about the boys. Carven’s Mens Spring 2013 collection is just the pop of color needed on this cold rainy day, from the boxy coats and cropped pants to that perfect floral embroidered sweatshirt.  Can spring come any sooner?

Balenciaga, Spring 2008
While going through the latest collections to prepare for new posts, I began reminiscing about Nicolas Ghesquiere’s tenure at Balenciaga. I am a huge Balenciaga fan and will miss the talent he brought to the house. This is an old collage of the Spring 2008 collection, my favorite to this day. I’m looking forward to see what he does next, and to see how the brand evolves.

We’re 2! Cupcakes for everyone!

I love a brand/blog collaboration. I get so excited when I see my favorite bloggers working with some of my favorite brands, and it definitely makes me sit up and pay attention. Man Repeller and Dannijo, Garance Dore and Kate Spade, Atlantic Pacific and BaubleBar, the list goes on. But how do lesser known blogs get the same opportunities? Enter Fohr Card, the new website from internet pros and all around cool kids Holly Stair, Rich Tong, and James Nord. They’ve made a platform that allows you to input your analytics, follower counts, press mentions, and previous collaborations into one place, creating a very detailed business card with all of your credentials. Brands can find you easier, you can find other awesome blogs you might not have heard of, and it tightens the internet community just a little bit more. I’m so excited to be a part of Fohr Card, and I highly recommend signing up too.

BCBG, Resort 2013
I must admit, I don’t usually think of BCBG as a major runway moment. While they are my go-to for the perfect party dress, ready-to-wear isn’t what I associate them with. However, this years Resort presentation totally blew me away. Flowy dresses, boxy blazers and vests, and multi-dimensional prints came together to create a great beachy collection that is appropriate for both the LA sun and the New York concrete. I definitely can’t wait to get my hands on a few pieces come spring, and I’m excited to see where the BCBG team goes with this new direction.

Roberto Cavalli, Resort 2013

Roberto Cavalli, Resort 2013

This past Saturday I got together with the girls to pay homage to some of our favorite menswear guys. With the help of James, we recreated some of our favorite shots, and spent a very fun afternoon running around Soho in boys clothes. A huge thank you to John and Lucky Magazine for making this happen, and of course a round of applause for my cohorts Holly, Pizza, Megan, and Marisa.
